Oil level sensor

I would like to find out where i can find the oil level sensor in my Audi A2. If you could help me out with this could you attach a photo of where it is please.
Thank You.

I can't get a photo of the A2 specific, but it's the same sensor on the A2,A3,A4 etc, it'll be on the sump and look something like this:

Hello,

As shown in the photo below, the oil level sensor for the 1.4 TDI is located on the top of the sump, just behind the drive pulley for the aux belt. It's held in by one bolt from above (10mm, if I remember correctly). Once the bolt is removed, the sensor can simply be pulled upwards out of the sump.

Cheers,

Tom

Hi Tom, your pic shows the later sensor position but for reference I recall the oil level and temp switch was in the sump, just below the filler tube up to mid 2002.

.
Also the sensor on the petrol engines are different to the diesel ones.

The good thing is that you can fit the diesel one without the oil coming out but the bad thing is that the diesel sensors are much more expensive than the petrol ones.

I've just learnt something new. I didn't know this was changed during the A2's production run. Thanks Spike. :)

Oil level sensor (item 20) on early TDi engines (Think its pre May 2002)

Is there any chance anyone could provide me part number for 1.2 tdi oil level sensor? Apparently i bought the wrong one.

Oh, but that must be for the 1.4 TDI, right? Unfortunately I am looking for the 1.2 TDI.. :(

No it’s for the petrol but I believe it’s the same for the all the petrol and diesel ones the 1.2 I would be surprised if it was different
