Evening and welcome to the Club,
There could easily be a few reasons why you have the warnings you’re being presented with.
The first thing to check is that the engine is not over filled and understand why it was low in the first place.
From memory of having the oil low (yellow can) displayed is cured of course by filling up the oil to the correct level. In my experience this has never been more than 500ml on my current AMF and also my previous BBY engine.
If you’ve poured in a full 1L bottle then it could well be over filled which is of course not ideal at all. This is possibly the reason why you have the oil pressure warning (red can). One of the reasons why you may have overfilled the engine is due to the dip sticks tip has broken off, therefore by being shorter than it should be, forcing you to add more oil that actually necessary tk get a reading on the dip stick.
To help us assist you, could you remove your dip stick, take a picture of the tip and upload it on this thread so we can advise next steps. If your tip has indeed broken off then you really should get a replacement or a repair part to ensure the engine is running with the correct quantity of oil.
Should the dip stick be fine and the oil level correct then the very best thing to do is have the car scanned with a registered version of VCDS.
You’ll no doubt have already seen on our pages that we like to answer questions and will go out of our way to help out, some will even offer to meet up or come to you to assist with certain woes.
Good luck with your new to you A2 and welcome again. Please do add a picture of your dip stick as running an overfilled engine can end in a high repair bill. Also look around the engine in an attempt to identify why you possibly lost the oil in the first place.
Kind regards,
Tom
