Ongoing trials of intemittent ABS warning lights...

So, I fitted the "new" yaw sensor on the 7th of March and after approximately 1200 miles (including a there and back to Dungeness from Herefordshire) there had not been a recurrence of the ABS warning lights coming on. I didn't want to get cocky and thought I'd reserve any excitement until we had returned form Edinburgh next week (a round trip of about 700 miles).

Sadly, on a local run today, the ABS lights came on. After letting the car sit for a few hours, I fired it up only for the lights to come on almost immediately. When we got home I plugged the laptop in and ran VCDS-lite and got the following code:

00285 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Front Right (G45) 16-10 - Signal Outside Specifications - Intermittent.

So my question is how easy is this to sort? And any recommendations of where to get the necessary parts from?

Check wiring if OK suspect either pick up ring or sensor, a replacement hub from any car like A2, polo, fabia, ibiza would rule both out in one go

Yes a good soaking will help no end, think it's a 5 hex bolt, nice and steady. May need pliers thin type to pull sensor from the hub. I would definitely spin the hub and try and look down in where then sensor was to see the holes go by. I found a twig once stuck in one causing issues.
If this all fails then time to check wires continuity.

I have wasted hours trying to carefully remove these sensors only to have them fail soon after refitting.
Now I would tend to soak the screw as described but tend to use the screwfix no nonsense release oil.
Pry the sensor out with a forked screwdriver and throw it away.
Buy a new Febi one from AVS car parts for £9.12 and use a stainless allen cap screw to hold it in place.
Not the only option but it works for me and removes one variable from the search.
The plastic wiring plug that fits the sensor is another weak point but replacements are available with flying wires.
Where the wire passes under the brake hose flexi bracket can also be worth a look for a nip.

GB Motorservices in Ross-on-Wye fitted the car in yesterday, replaced the ABS sensor (and a split CV boot whilst they were there) and so far, after driving to Edinburgh today (350ish miles) there's been no repeat.

Watch this space (or not hopefully).

Added another 400 miles with no warning lights coming home from Edinburgh today. Hopefully that is the issue resolved.
(As an aside we averaged 66mpg from Ross-on-Wye to Carlisle, and then nearly 72 from Carlisle to Edinburgh to Preston. So quite pleased with that!)
