It did not surprise me, too, because the roof sounds a litte strained at times, especially when it has to move the two pieces of the roof at the same time...

Bye, Frido.

Ade - as you know the standard car allows you to open and close all electric windows via the key fob. Do you know if it is possible to disable this feature and only make the key fob open and close the open sky roof?

You can disable the windows, I'm sure, but the sunroof is probably a non starter for the A2. I still haven't got around to trying this due to time conflicts. I want to stop the windows opening with the fob (pointless as I have Climate), but I would like them to still shut with the fob. I will hopefully get to test prior to the Social!

Just what I mentioned above. Things have been a little hectic the last few days (lots of business travel/overnight) so haven't had the car. I'm back home tomorrow though so may get to play then. At the moment, all I have managed to do is the central locking at speed and change from all doors to driver door only (which I'm going to change back as it's annoying me too much).

Now it's working though, anything else in this section (or the windows/sunroof) section is just a case of connecting and altering as the above codes. I am sure we could test this asap on Sunday if worst really came to worst.

The fact that the sunroof does not have the pinch function that stops it when it hits something is exactly why the standard setup does not allow for the roof to close from the fob (as I stated before). But by my reconning the setting can be changed if the driver asks for it and thus takes own responsibility for pinching things. So I hope it will work!

I have also noticed that the window opening/closing functions work on a shorter range than the general locking/unlocking of the car. I can stand further and lock/unlock, but from that same distance it refuses to open/close windows. Thus I think this is the safety, in you having to be closer to the car and you can thus see that babies heads aren't being severed when you close the roof!

One thing I thought of was that the windows will fully open/close with a single press of the window button. The sunroof does this also (single press) on other Audis I believe, but not the A2. Hence, perhaps this fob-function only works where the system already allows a single press to fully open close? The Opensky relies upon continuous pressure on the button to open/close fully so it may be disabled for this reason? Conjecture until we can test it.

Not unless this is it?

VAG-COM works fine.

Tweak: Coding options for lighting Coding is 000XY.

X=1 for Xenon Headlights,
X=0 for conventional Halogens.

Country DRLs: Fogs w/o low beams:
Y=1 RDW (Rest of World) No Yes
Y=2 NDL (Netherlands) Yes Yes
Y=3 USA No No
Y=4 KAN (Canada) Yes Yes
Y=5 DAN (Denmark?) Yes Yes
Y=6 SON (Other?) Yes Yes

I am not sure why there are so many Yes/Yes combinations; there must be some other features controller by this. The state of the Radio and Climate Control lighting is affected by this coding as well.

USA is no no... so that means they can't have fogs and mains on? I have found it weird that you can have fogs, dipped and mains on in our A2s at the same time... I remember on my dad's BMW that if you had the fogs on and you switched the mains on, the fogs switched off automatically... which makes sense if you think about what mains do to your vision in fog. There is no point having fogs on when you switch your mains on. Maybe it is some sort of a law in USA, as is lights always on in Canada and Denmark...

There needs to be tighter control on the use of front fog lights-every car with auto cancelling switches, and as Johann says if you have front fogs on, the use of main beams is pointless and probably dangerous as it actually reduces visability further. Just one of my pet hates!.

So I guess we won't be fiddling with the lights setting then?

BTW, I can't get at the settings for sunroof/windows. The controller mentioned above isn't listed in the software interface, but I'll keep searching. Must be a way to do it. The software ain't that friendly...
