Open Sky and light/heat in the cabin

Mike (Skipton Autos) lubricated the seals on our OpenSky yesterday and to gain access we took out the internal shade. Now I am in two minds whether to put it back as without it, it lets in more light and looks good. However I have not had an A2 during summer and wonder if in full sun, there will be too much sunlight that will heat up the cabin and have the A/C working harder than necessary. If so the shade needs to go back.

What do others think who have experience of an OpenSky during summer?

Hammam

Hi

I know what i'm talking about and I can tell you that in Italia, it's goind to be a Hammam. You are going to feel all the sun strength upon your Head like a Hammer.

I have an A2 whithout shade and when I went to Algeria, it's was very Hard. You'll see.

Thanks guys. I think this confirms my suspicions, that whilst you might get away with it with the British Summer ha, ha - we will get a roasting under the Mezzogiorno sun. So Mike, I may be on the phone when I am struggling to get it back in:)

First summer with the A2, I had that shade fitted.
Before the 2nd summer, I took it off, and I didn't find it made a big difference in heat. But I prefer the lightness without the shade, and the bigger visible roof glass surface.
So my 3rd summer in an A2 will be without the shade, for sure.
