OSS repairs

Is there no-one living near Ami to become his partner in crime to keep him busy during his supposed retirement? :D

I understand Deproman (Paul) supplies the parts required parts for this service.

Cheers,

Stuart

Hi I need OSS repair, but I'm in Sweden. I think the left cable is broken. Maybe I can come to the UK for a repair, is this thread still alive?

It seems that @Charles who had taken over the service is unavailable at the moment & can not be reached.

Ok so If I need the repair plates, is he my only option?
Might be easier for you (geographically) to try and find out on the German club if they have a similar independent expert? I know ‘Autohaus Rinner’ were previously doing OSS repairs, but that’s a dealership so you’d be paying silly money probably.

If you find something out, could you let us know?

Cheers,

Stuart

Hi,
You could always have a go at repairing the OSS yourself by download the workshop manual from erWin?

The schematic diagram and 'how to' disassemble are included in the....

(Just getting manual name)

Audi A2 2001
General body repairs, exterior - Edition 06.2006

You could also do an internet search for,
Self study programme 378
Audi opensky sunroof system

EDIT
after skim reading the workshop manual I didn't find it all that useful for cable repair information. 😟

not looking good for us OSS (should i say non OSS) users for this 'summer' not sure when even if we can obtain the repair plates is it a roof off job again for me, lol

Fully agree, I am gone take a chance & remove my OSS & put in the one that was working in one of my breakers in, It be a good exercise and hopefully it will work as did before, Can not wait for Charles any longer.

I did the same swapped with the good OSS, and it worked well for about five months, with me opening it nearly every week and using sunroof silicone grease on the seals. However, a few days ago, it suddenly "popped cable" on the driver’s side, and now its non-OSS feature.

Two person lift, mind you're back. Plus from this day on the rule is.. pushing the sunroof with your feet has to to be video'd with the background music 'I want to break free' and posted to A2OC

The repair plates can be bought from the German forum, contact Unwissender.
OK what's involved it getting access to the repair plates with OSS system in situ. I assume the first panel needs to be removed then removing some trim?

I am not sure, but I saw a video on youtube in German, he did the repair without disassembling

If you find the link,
Is it this one?

Follow the guide below to get English sub titles, (It works, I just checked).

Enable Subtitles: Ensure the video you want to translate has subtitles or closed captions available.
Access Subtitles: Click the "CC" button (closed captioning) in the video player.
Select Language: Choose your preferred language from the available options.
YouTube will automatically translate: the subtitles into your selected language.

Enjoy.
Mac.

Thanks, Mac. I've already seen this video, but I skipped through a lot of it previously since I was focused on removing the old OSS to replace it with the working one. I didn't pay much attention to the repair sections, but I'll take another look
Cheers
