A2 Golden Miler

Hi All, been a while since I posted, our A2 has been running great until the other the day when alas a simple press of the button to open the roof failed to do anything at all. Nothing. No clicking, whirring, cracking. Nothing at all.
Checked the fuse (same as horn ??) horn works fine, took out the light panel in the roof and appear to have power to the switch, bought a new switch at over £25 fitted that still nothing. I have been quoted £275 for a new motor plus fitting which is getting a bit steep with the known other issues.
Any simple checks appreciated before our A2 joins the ever increasing crew of non opening open sky A2's
