Outside-colour design plans. What do you think?

With A2s I think what someone mentioned here before, that you gotta be careful with colours on the outside, as it can quickly turn into raceboy crap. Obviously I wanna avoid that too, so here's a few of my ideas I want to do after I'm back from holiday. Wheel and body wise I like the last 2 the most, but any ideas welcome.

There's some very subtle changes there! I't almost like you get in some magazines : "spot the difference"! I've always been a fan of having the roof a different colour to the main body. My first car was a Ford Corsair (that was 1966!) and I just loved the colour combination. It was a dark blue ("Ambassador" was the name) and a grey roof. It just went together SO well! My A2 is Azure blue so I COULD go "back in time" and colour its roof silver or grey. I may well do that! I wouldn't remove the rear spoiler, though! There would be all sorts of problems with doing that!

I'd go with either of the last two bodywise, the dark A-D pillars fit very well and look classy - as does the spoiler in colour. But I'd go with different wheels if you want to play with their colourscheme. Maybe it's just me, but I think OEM wheels should stay as the OEM intended, unless it's really subtle e.g tasteful black centres to the caps on Sport 17" wheels.

Standard silver all over or steel. Traditional but not chav. Even black is too much, the most in black staying subtle would be the Audi rings only.

I didn't want too much colour on, as itd turn our bad quickly, I tried orange and green on different ways, but even a bit was just too much. I'd have preferred the car's colour to be rather blue, easier to play with the colours too, but I've made my peace with the silver by now and trying colours with that. The spolier is always on pics just not always visible, no I don't want to remove it I like it a lot:)

I agree, I've seen full black ones and didnt look good, but I love designing so something gotta happen, hopefully by August all be done and can roll up on one of the meets:)

Or plain center caps and the Audi rings in steel colour on one of the spokes, very subtle and not immediately obvious.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm thinking about the black centres but feels they take away more than give style wise, but the same coloured spoiler is definitely one of the top ideas, thanks

I think that the software that you've used is "paintshop", is that correct? So here's a big "ask"! I'm rather ignorant about computer's and getting things out of them. So I wonder if you could change the body colour to azure blue and the roof to silver in one image and grey in another? It would be SO helpful to me! Thanks if you can do that!

Surely it would be sacrilege, to paint a mint centre cap..?? and for me..
..the untouched cap looks great on all the wheel designs, and (as a bonus) still 'says' Audi A2 ?

I like the first picture rear wheel design and the 6th picture roof

Urgh on the wheels. I am not a fan in any way of the two-tone wheel look. I think it's overly fussy and detracts.
Black wheels do look a little strange on the A2; I've been running TD Pro Race in matt black now for several years and the aggressiveness is slightly offset with the "puffy" 195/50 tyres.

The problem with doing the roof is the rear cut line. The base of the side window is not perfectly aligned with the bottom of the rear glass, IIRC, so it's very, very hard to make it look good.

IMO: Rear spoiler also belongs in piano black if that's what you're doing for the arches (assuming OSS here). Then it starts to look like this:

If there's no OSS, I'm not convinced at all on the look.

why not do a silver colour storm effect - leave the wheels as they are, black arches and roof

Hi I'm in holiday but I'll try to do that tomorrow, cheers

I've tried the black arches, looks good of the bottom plastic is coloured but mine is black and all together would be too much dark imo
