Paint Colour

Hi,

would anyone be able to tell, from my avatar pic, what the colour of my A2 is.

Some b*****d has decided to leave a long scrape along the side. I Know a guy in Belfast who should be able to fix it but I want to get him the paint colour name and number.

I am absolutely furious but I guess that is just Dublin. Stupid of me to think I could have a nice car and live here without having some bypasser do his best to destroy it.

I suppose when my car was not so nice they did their best to destroy it as well.

My guess would have been Azure Blue.
You really need the paint code anyway. This is printed on the inside cover of the Audi service booklet, along with the engine details and option list etc. A copy of this data can also be found in the boot, ususlly in one of the cubby holes next to the battery.
Paint codes start with the letter L (LY7W is silver for example)

Cheers Spike

There is a different colour on the purchase order for the car than that on the receipt. It is listed as Azure on the purchase order but Crystal Blue on the sales receipt. I have tried googling both to try and see the colour but I seem to get a few different colours back.

I looked in the service manual and there is no sign of a colour or code for it.

It is fairly tough to see the difference in the two. To my dodgy eyes anyway!

I called Agnews Audi and they told me that it was Azure Blue in Germany but also called Crystal Blue in the UK. The code is (L)Z5H.

I am going to leave it up to a guy in Belfast who works in a bodyshop during the day and will do it on his spare time. He knows the paint colour by the code and describes it as Crystal Blue.

It's all very complicated.

There are one or two previous minor scratches so I am going to get those sorted out at the same time.

Thanks for all of your help!

LZ5H is indeed the code for Azure Blue, but it was never called Crystal Blue in the UK, that is a separate colour altogether - LY7R.

Just for completeness sake, the other colour mentioned, Mauritius Blue has the code LZ5C

Cheers,

Mike

I told the guy Azure blue and he did a great job fixing it up and also cleared up another few bits for £150. Pleased with the work and the price.

The original sales receipt says Crystal Blue on it, the original order form says Azure Blue. There must be something in what the guy in Audi was saying. I didn't really listen to him but at least he gave the code and with that the name doesn't matter at all.
