Parcel Shelf not as standard, fittings?

Hi,

My A2 was one of the earlier models that didn't come with the parcel shelf as standard (it was an optional extra). I phoned up my local Audi dealer to obtain a quote for a new one (£160+fittings :eek:), however the dealer seemed to think because it wasn't standard in my car I dont have the correct fittings.

Can anybody confirm whether or not, despite not having one as standard, I can fit a parcel shelf/retractable boot cover.

Does anybody have a photo of the slots etc the cover fits into? In my boot it looks like there are spaces either side for the shelf to fit into, but have been filled in with plastic inserts. I am wondering whether if these are removed the shelf will fit?

Any help would be much appreciated!

If you whip out those inserts, you'll see a few triangular holes behind them that take the prongs on the roller cover.

The dealer was probably getting mixed up with the false floor, which does need extra brackets and stuff, but for what you want, buy one off the bay, take off the blanking plugs and fit the cover!

Thanks very much, taken out the inserts and bingo!....now just need to source a parcel shelf!!

Not surprised the dealer was wrong...he also tried to tell me, when I asked who were Audi approved for installing window tints, that Autoglass fitted them!!:confused: So still tryiing to find someone locally who would be able to do a good job!

Whereabouts are you?

There is only one tinter that is authorised by Audi UK and that is Pentagon - I have their supaglass installed and it is superb.

That was the company I was looking at actually! I live in Essex, so Colchester is the nearest for me. I am regularly in Surrey though, so may investigate where I can get it done there.

What sort of tint did you get (% wise and number of windows) and how much was it approximately? I emailed them requesting a quote but they arent exactly rushing to get back to me!
