Parts out of production or very expensive and rare for 1.2Tdi and others

Here is a list of parts that can no longer be purchased for a2.

What I found so far for my 1.2 tdi (and had to adapt or replace with something else).

  1. Right side wishbone 8Z0 407 152 S, 8Z0 407 152 Q. Alu versions are no longer available (not even for 300eur).
  2. Left side wishbone still some available - 200 euro
  3. Fuel filter valve -> 057 127 247 E -- I used 057 127 247 A instead(engine does not warm up so quickly)
  4. Engine mounts - still available but extremely expensive(~400-500eur) -- can be built from another parts.
  5. Oil level sensor - very expensive (~400eur) but can be adapted from R8 for 40% less
  6. Gear selector potentiometer - (unknown code - the one that determines the gear level position) I could not find this one anywhere online.
  7. Not sure if the potentiometers for the automatic transmision are available.
  8. New tires very hard to come by. Winter tires are half price vs summer tires. Last pair was cheapest directly from audi (50 euro/tire).
  9. Suspension dampers - alu - maybe available for around 200 euro/piece for front --replacement exists on the german forum
  10. gearbox driveshaft end - 200 euro/piece
  11. driveshaft tripode --some adaptation posible from other new parts. For now it might be cheaper to buy a complete driveshaft.
Please add up to the list. Specify the engine too.

12. rear axle beam bushing 8Z0501541 replacement tested: MEYLE 1147100001/S

yes....NOTIFY availability:D:D:D

none are available anywhere...i checked.

only audi tradition has it...

this means...bad luck:)) is the same on all sites.
Buy the 1J0 option then, if you can't wait! Cheaper as well.

Autodoc apparently out of stock irrespective of which aftermarket producer.

Same 8Z0 code put on Ebay brings up loads of them, many with the 1J0 code cited as being the same part. Could it not be another case of the correct diameter and same piece of metal - ie it will fit and do if the exact 8Z0 part isn't available, with perhaps a slightly different grade of rubber in the middle, much as with the tdi vs petrol wishbone bushes? With the exception of the the 1.2tdi, for a lot of other VAG cars they went out of their way to standardise the unseen but useful components as much as possible.

I believe is something like you've said. Not sure why those engineeres did not build a bushing for all of them:)) I mean...is not rocket science.

same sized part, same sized castings - but bear in mind that different models in the A/B/C sectors in VAG weigh considerably different amounts so using exactly the same bushing could cause one car to ride too harshly, and for another it could be too soft.

I installed MEYLE 1147100001/S.
It is a big better difference:)
I cannot say any other vibration are transmitted extra.
