Parts

Please can anyone tell me how i can get hold of parts such as the rear footwell box, underseat storage tray and rear drinks holder and handbrake console unit ?

Any other interior upgrades that are worth doing ? How do you get the black headliner or is that a factory fit option> thanks again :)

With the demise of VagParts there are no specialist parts dealers other than Audi so its a case of scouring e.bay, the breakers or paying nearly full price from someone like Stoke Audi who run a decent mail order service. http://www.stokeaudi-parts.co.uk/categories.php?category=Audi-A2

Black headlings are available but cost a fortune and fitting is tricky. Our top modder, Skipton 01 has done the conversion - pics in this thread - http://www.a2oc.net/forum/showthread.php?t=3093&highlight=black+headlining

So is it a job of just checking the bay or going to stoke audi? Nowhere else still supplies parts then?

Since the sad demise of VagParts.com, there really us no other option than the franchised dealer network for genuine parts. The A2 is a specialist platform, with very few common parts, which makes the job even harder.

I prefer buying through South Herefird Audi, but you need to know what you want (they don't have a shop as such), but the trade-off is the cheapest price possible, lower than Stoke in all instances.

There might just be alot guys waiting for "someone" to take the initiative then Mike...... :D
I know I missed vagparts for my S4 as soon as they closed and know as an A2 owner I shure as hell miss them still!
SO when are you opening your own import/export all VAG (or just Audi) partshop?;):D

I won't be Richie - for the very same reason that killed VagParts - the strength (or lack of it!) of the £ to the €

All genuine parts are made in mainland Europe and so now that the currencies are almost equal, there's no margin left in them.

It's a nice thought, but not a practical one.

Cheers,

Mike

Very understandable - hence the smileys... :)
I read the letter posted by Vagparts on the very sad day they posted it, and felt what you're saying - as long as there is no profit in it, it's not worth doing cause it would take much more time than it's worth...
Shure if you were a millionaire and had all the time in the world and just wanted to help... but that's not going to happen is it :(
From what I've read these past years since I first started following A2oc before registering you seem to do hell of a job with your garage and I wish there were more good hearted souls out there like you Mike!
If I'll go to Brittain I'll make shure to come visit the garage!

*sorry for OT :)

I do what I can Richie and my main aim is to keep as many of these special little cars going as possible and to educate their owners so that they can keep them in tip top condition!

If you ever do come to the UK, please drop by - I'd be only too glad to see you.

Cheers,

Mike

Can someone tell me what the drivers side stowage compartment is and where it goes (without stating the obvious!). The picture doesn't make it very clear to me at all, also i may have asked already but is the rear cup holder worth £60 or can i get it cheaper elsewhere?

http://www.stokeaudi-parts.co.uk/products.php?product=Shelf-for-Audi-A2

thanks

P.S
checking the car over today and i noticed that the engine bay protector has eroded or broken. There is a metal lock at the top right of the bonnett and it is resting on a plastic piece belwo the wiper, is this normal? I may have to get some pictures up!

I presume you've been looking at Stoke Audis site - the drivers side stowage compartment is nothing more than the cover that is by your knees.

The rear drinks holder is not as good value as the VagParts one was, but they're not around now, so this is about as good as it gets.

Cheers,

Mike
