No i think this has to be done by a Stealer or if you can find someone close to you with a VAG.COM they could do that for you, check on the map at the top of the page see if a member is close by to that could do this

waking up an "old" thread again . . .

I am in the same situation that I sometimes have to transport 3 kids around and would like to have the choice to deactivate the passenger airbag.

Has someone retrofitted the original switch to turn of the airbag ?

these are the partnumbers from vagcat :
4B0919237
key switch for deactivating airbag
8L0857113A
lock cylinder with key

I could not see any more electrical parts in the Vagcat and probably one would not get the light to illuminate by solving it like this but it would be easier than to connect it to the vag com each time you switch between adults/child seats.

You can turn the passenger airbag off with the key, look in the glove compartment. A message appears near the interior light telling you the passenger airbag is off. Does on mine. Page 175 from my newly acquired Owner's Manual.

Thank you for the answer Hank,

The problem is just that my car is not equipped with the lock and I was wondering if it could be retrofitted :)
