Passenger Side Mirror- Help needed!!!!

Hi people

I am new to this site as i have just got myself an A2
Thing is some idiot has bust off my passenger side mirror.

The actual mirror itself is ok, like glass and housing etc as it was hanging on by the wire when i came to it.

Im not too sure how the mirror attaches to the mount but basically the round black bit fits in the metal mount part but its not secure, just falls out again!!!

Where can I but a new mount and bit that clips into it

let's explain...

your mirror is held on via an aluminium casting. This is in turn held into the door window frame using a Tx40 bolt.

It sounds like the casting itself has broken, if the remaining mirror itself is OK. It's a "sollbruchstelle" - or "should break point" if I understand correctly.

Anyway, the part itself: I don't have the number. It should be printed on the part itself. Only annoying bit is that you'll end up probably taking the door card off (three tx20 screws, two under the armrest, one in the tweeter grill - take the grill off, then pull, starting from the cutout at the bottom of the door) to get the plastic trim off from behind the mirror; there's a piece of expanded foam there, too, just to make it more difficult.

Someone else may have the partnumber handy. You could try one of the breakers, it might cost you a tenner and some p&P.
