Pepperpot Wheel Query

Hello from France ! I have my 2 Audi A2's over here with me - both fully French Registered now. Some of the Departments over here insist on winter tyres being fitted. Rather than change tyres twice a year I thought I would get a set of pepperpots for the winter tyres.
I have read the threads on the forum and established that 5 x 100 wheels are the ones to get - if you can find any !! Could anyone confirm the spacer required and what size tyres will fit these wheels best ? I am not in a rush to get the wheels but if a good set come up I would be interested.

Hi JWT,
Spacers are not needed as the wheels fit fine, they fit them to bring the edge of the rim /tyre nearer to the wheel arch.
Hope that helps

Thanks for the responses - anyone any idea of the best tyre size to fit the 5x100's - I always buy from mytyres.co.uk or pneus123.fr over here in France both the same company - clearly its winter or all climate tyres I need

Pepperpots are 6J wide 15" rims. The 6-spoke 15" option rims on the A2 were also 6J wide, while the standard forged 7-hole 15" rims were narrower at 5.5J. While Audi fitted 175/60 tyres to all the 15" A2 rims, 185/60 would be a better match for a 6J rim width, with only marginally greater rolling radius than the OEM size. I guess which one you choose might depend on how strict the French CT and insurance are about such matters.
