Petrol leak ??

Good evening

tonight I’ve sprung a petrol leak.
I think the hot day has melted something!
It’s dripping from just behind the sill (drivers side) by back door.
Will take it to garage as soon as
Do hope it’s not too expensive...

How full is your tank. Chance it is the overflow due to the fuel expanding in the hot weather. Or a rubber pipe perished or loose fitting.
 
The canister-type petrol filter is roughly in that area, visible from underneath. On one occasion I replaced the filter but didn't clip the pipe in properly, causing a leak and fuel smell.

Had exactly the same on my 1.4MPi: Original by the look of it and had a pinhole in the main body.
 
Had exactly the same on the Tdi project car last year - original 2002 canister fuel filter was literally falling apart and lost 2/3 of a tank into the drive gravel before I realised what the problem was.
