I've done a bit of digging and there seems plenty about crank sensors for the TDi but haven't really found much about the petrol engines.
Occasionally the engine will crank over and not fire. Usually after the 3 attempt it'll start, but once it didn't fire for ages.
A friend had something similar on a renault and I cleaned his (magnetic) crank sensor and it was cured.
From what I've gleaned on elsawin it is in a very difficult location and needs a special tool to fit?
