Problem Re-Starting

Hi - wonder if someone can give me some advice.

Just on my way from South London to Gloucester and pulled off the M4 Services - got a coffee and was about to head off and the car is cranking but not starting?

Was fine all the way here.

I fuelled up in London and it definitely was diesel- checked the receipt as well just to be sure.

Rang a mechanic friend of mine and I explained i have a feeling the car needs to cool down again to restart- well I hope that is what it is- maybe crank sensor?

Still got to get from Gloucester down to Bognor Regis Today :-(

how much fuel was in the tank? i have had this issue with sludge in the fuel pickup

Hey there - there was about a 1/4 tank still. The car restarted once it cooled down - did the same once I got to Bognor - after overnight it starts easily but is running a little rough with a bit of smoke to start with - think it needs to go on computer but just need it to get me back to London tomorrow and then will he stored for 5 months - will have to wait till I get back from Australia.
