Problems with my first A2

Yes, somebody might have one. In reality you are better off keeping an eye on the selling forum when it reopens (you might as have gathered there is an issue at the moment!!!!). PM Steve(A2Steve) and Jeremy(Sciroccorrado) and they can put you on their wanted lists - they will probably see this anyway. Concert II's crop up regularly on here at half the price of extortionate ridiculously poor condition ones on eBay.

Don't forget Sarge too, and BoxyA2 ... and .... :)

This is true Andy....why am I now seeing Jeremy and Steve as bounty hunters.:D

Why are Pirates called Pirates ...?

'Coz they RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Don't forget Sarge too, and BoxyA2 ..

Oops, I did think of BoxyA2, but did not mention, simply because I bought (small world) the Concert II out of his current recycling resource (know you don't like the word breaker!). I was keeping Sarge out of the cold, but yes that was wrong he might have one in the warm .... Apologies Sarge.

Just struck me, I must therefore have a spare Concert II and a bright idea has just struck.

LOL :) no worries guys

Hi Mart,

Herein my bright idea that struck earlier, actually two bright ideas for the price of one.

In your earlier picture the non A2 Concert looks in excellent nick why not...

1. If the current oversize Concert works fine and you are happy with it you can just cut it down to size. Sounds drastic I know, but finished off with delicate sanding I remember some members have achieved presentable results - perhaps someone who has can comment. I would expect only the length needs reducing and it would not surprise me if you can see the A2 size by the extra reinforcement on the ends of the inside of the front panel that Audi stuck on to make it wider. The height of the A2 front panel is near 58mm, check yours. I am suspicious of the the silver trim at the top of the your unit and it might make the suggestion unviable as I would only go for reducing length.

A no cost option but if something goes wrong or you are not happy with the result then you have lost your chance to put it on eBay and make a bit of money.

2. I do have a spare Concert II (no code) but have not mentioned it because the front panel has some small blemishes and some buttons are worn and I have not checked it still works. [It is too cold to work outside and test it; something I was leaving until Easter or later]. The idea that struck me was you could transfer the buttons from your unit and it would look reasonable. This is a straight forward job with a small torx driver (T6) the only special tool needed and no electrical work. Should take about an hour as a first time job. I could write you a 'How To' if requested but you basically just follow your nose.

I suggest you keep looking for a unit and if you have no luck by Easter and you are getting desperate come back to me. I would not want much but can't name figures here (not Marketplace) or I might get banned!
