Project Doris

You could fill the gap around the cover with the silicone as it does not show against the silver and barely shows against dark colours.

I think silicone typically cures with Acetic Acid rather than any kind of abusable solvent.

You’d likely get some nostril irritation but it’s not too skin unfriendly. It’s the anti mould ingredients and the silicone itself which are usually irritating.

What a beautiful sight. Seeing 2 A2’s on the drive :)

You never know there could be a 3rd one on the way if I can find room :)?

Still think Doris has had rear damage. That horizontal line between the bumper rubbing strip and the votex roughly between the near side and second in rear park sensor.

I’ve had a look it’s all straight :)

I think they reversed into a fence

What has probably happened then is something has pushed the plastic skin of the bumper forward into the metal rear crash bar behind it. I have known success using a hair dryer and warming the area the plastic returns to its original shape, just be gentle and spread the heat about. The circled area on your picture is too far left. I am on about the horizontal line that starts just to the right of your circle and disappears off to the right.

Yes I know your on about the line on the bumper I circled in red a little scuff mark at the bottom of the bumper to show clearly someone has bumped into a fence ? :)

This has been an interesting article to peruse! I'd like to add a small input. If this had been my A2, I would have been desperate to source a steering wheel, gear-knob and handbrake cover in matching red leather!. But that's just me and my obsessional nature!

Don’t worry I’m on the look out for a red steering wheel and gear knob and handbrake cover :)

everyone to their own, but I see a lot of A2's and the red leather interior whilst being very nice looks too much when the seat, door card, steering wheel, gear level gaiter and the hand brake grip are all also red - it simple looks to be a sea of red.
I know Audi tried to colour co-ordinate the interior, and to a degree I get that, and it looks good, but with it all there it is simply too much red.
Personally I would omit the steering wheel and leave it black leather. The rest in red co-ordinates well and does not look too much.

Now ask my wife and she says the red looks like a 'tarts budwar' (that is certainly not the correct spelling :)) so it is everyone's personal opinion regarding what looks good / too much / over the top / tarty

cheers,
Paul

My A2's blue leather and I've added even more blue leather highlights to it! The cowl over the instruments, the centre, dash-top square, the passenger grab-rail and the lower centre-storage trays. I think that blue isn't quite so strong a colour as red, espe3cially in my light-grey interior. Well, that's my opinion, and we've all got one of those!
