Do you need a false floor kit or just the floor?
 
Hi Steve, It's just the floor I need and a space saver foam holder as it's got the bracket for it but I'm not holding out much hope of getting one.of those ???
 
There a metal bracket that sits on top of the battery with a threaded tube which sits flush with the boot floor that keeps the space saver in place, I thought but could be wrong is there not a foam insert that keeps the wheel off the carpet? I'm sure I've seen them advertised but you'd need to sell a kidney to buy one ???

The thing that sits between the carpet and the wheel is a black plastic disc, with a hole in the middle and 5 tall locating lugs that go through the bolt holes on the spare wheel. Then there's the thing to screw down through the wheel into the threaded hole on the bracket. Usually you'd only find the whole mounting kit being sold together, often with the spare wheel, but you might try your luck in a breaker's yard.
 
I thought there was something that protected the carpet and held the wheel in place. I've got the metal bracket and the space saver even if I just got the threaded clamp with something to protect the carpet in the meantime, I'm sure they'd all be the same in the vag range? I've been scouring the local breakers for A2's coming in but there hasn't been anything for quite a while now

Nice try but Flipper's not for sale or at least not in the next 11 and a half months anyway ??? and even if I did sell him I'd be looking for exactly the same car to replace him so there's no point. I could sell you a lovely silver Tdi with red leather instead? ?

I drove a 1.4 petrol for the first time yesterday and omg you weren't joking about them being painfully slow, it probably didn't help jumping out of a mapped Tdi tho

Yes I'll definitely take the false floor off you, I take it it's a soul black one?

So far I've sourced all the missing bits of trim now, restored the headlights and fitted a brand new set of supplying dealer reg plates (Not cheap but well worth it) Next job is to refurb the new alloys

Well project Meep got the calipers and drums painted red and the refurbed 17 sports alloys fitted, in my opinion the car looks so much better for it
