I think your more likely to find the Jive colour in a leather dye Tom. I did buy some last year from an ebayer in Hull and it worked well. I will try and find a link for you.

That's exactly what I used it for with good results. I've just checked and the seller is no longer trading sadly. Try Google searching "audi jive coloured leather dye" and hopefully it should bring something up.

The jive coloured leather SE gear stick was discontinued from June 2017 and is no longer available to buy new. Luckily Sarge supplied with me with a used one and I set about a renovation. I bought a leather resto kit from ebay which included an Audi Jive coloured dye and it's a perfect match...

Dave,
That looks great and I remember seeing your post now. Did the knob eventually match the darkness of the gaiter once complete.
What made it darker, was it more coats of dye or the polish/clear coat once finished.
Have you got a picture of this item now or has the A2 moved on sir.

I sold the SE gearstick some time a go and it did look darker without the flash on the photo. The jive dye is slightly more of a grey colour if I,m honest but not far off a match. It does look better with extra coats and the final clear coat.

Morning all,
Still working with Stuart to try to get the Bumper PDC screen to display on the RNS-E. Its proving difficult but I’m sure we will get there some how.
What I may have to do is swap the 8Z0 PDC Module for an 8P0 PDC Module to test the CAN messages for both front and rear sensors.
This was something that I was trying to avoid as didn’t want to cut holes in my Headlamp Washer Bumper. All the testing can be done without physically fitting the equipment so will leave the cutting for now.
It might just be easier to fit a rear view camera but this can be quite expensive to get the TV type Module and will of course include yet another PnP harness.
I’ll continue with the PDC Page on the HU for now to see what’s possible. I think I’ll have to have a PDC Off button and will try to utilise the ECO button from a 1.2 TDI which is located below the ASR Button. Hopefully it is not needed and the front sensors stop reporting the beep over a certain speed.
Tom @timmus have you got any tips as I guess you may have been requested to investigate this in the past.
I’ll report back once I know more.

Just had an update from Stuart and he is making progress on this.
I have a set of PDC Sensors along with loom on the way to him to see if he can tweak the CANBUS messages with said sensors plugged in.
Next will probably be send him another set along with loom to get the same information from the front Sensors.
Here are what I’m hoping to have displayed as soon as possible:

This should only be a temporary swap whilst Rob and Marcus at WOM Automotive fit the beautifully prepared MYP Gearbox, which should bring some very economical function to the recently fitted 6 Speed Gear Knob Emblem.

I am absolutely over the moon with this progress as it seems that there might well be no need for the fitting of front sensors.
I think if I wanted the front sensors also then this would have been a little easier (from a coding perspective) as we could have just used an 8P0 PDC Control Module, the hard work, time and effort has gone into making the 8Z0 PDC Control Module to work with the RNS-E. Utterly awesome.
Stuart’s dedication to solve this is just fantastic. I am still amazed at what can be achieved these days with a bit of knowledge and ‘get it done’ mentality.
For anyone else wishing to do this in the future I do understand that it maybe only for the RNS-E PU (Mk2 / 193), but I suppose nothing is impossible!

Afternoon everyone,
You will have seen I recently swapped OEM for a Silver A2. Well the swap back occurred an hour ago.
I have not long been in from the maiden journey with the ‘new’ MYP Gearbox fitted.
The gearbox came from a 2012 VW Passat with 35k miles:
It’s had fresh oil put in along with the gear linkage adjusted.
The gear change is so silky smooth and feels a lot tighter. The throw pattern is shorter which I already prefer and is a very welcomed addition.
Cruising home along the A50, then the M1 from WOM Automotive was great. You’ll have read that I am a frugal driver and having the engine running at 500rpm less than before at the same speed is amazing, I’m sure it’ll pay for itself in a few years!
It feels just right and how the A2 should have felt when first produced. I really do like this upgrade, having only been driving it for just under an hour, it already feels like it’s been there for years. Do I recommend this upgrade... Absolutely YES. It’s not the cheapest of upgrades but nice things are expensive I suppose.
I must thank Rob @chumsofmanutd and Marcus for the attention to detail in having the bell housing ‘shaved’ for perfect alignment of the starter motor. My thanks also go to Tom @timmus for mentioning this option all those years ago when we first met, I was a little gutted that such a thing wasn’t available for the 1.4 Petrol engine but that's in the past now I have a TDI. Also David @dj_efk for the information regards Red Line oils.
That’s enough for now as I’ve got an hour to waste before picking the boys up from school, so I’m off out on an ‘essential needs’ drive!

I’ve not forgot about you. Give me a week to conduct my normal driving schedule and I’ll report my findings. I cannot see why the report wouldn’t be positive though.
My last gearbox was actually fine and only went for this upgrade due to having a rather stupid/cheeky offer accepted for the MYP gearbox. That said it could have benefited from the linkage adjusting along with fresh oil.
If/when I get another TDI this will be one of the first items I’ll purchase. Sort the mechanicals before ‘pimping’ it in an OEM fashion.

I travelled back at 70mph (bit weird overtaking so many vehicles as I’m used to sticking to 60mph) and the Rev counter was sat nicely at c1900rpm. That’ll be some saving in a few years as most of my 122 mile daily commute is in top gear along the A46.
This most certainly is my favourite upgrade as it gives back the more you drive. Winner!
Wish I had done this sooner but I guess I would have paid probably double for the gearbox though. Some things are worth taking your time over.
I am truly happy with this and yes it’s a lot quieter!

Well there you go - at the national limit over the long distances you're travelling you're probably not saving on fuel (arguably you are on engine wear I guess), but instead you're getting something even more valuable: Free time and feeling more refreshed / extra energy to make use of it when you arrive at your destination!

Well done i bet its all silky smooth driving, do you know if this conversion is only a TDI thing or will the right gearbox work on a FSI 1.6?

I believe the answer you’re after originates from this thread. I’ve not read it in detail yet but sure you’ll be glad to know that it’s not just the TDI that can have this conversation.
I’ve quickly browsed through the thread and it seems that it may not be the best solution compared to the TDI 6 Speed Conversion, but I guess that there is a better option out there somewhere.

Morning all,
Quick update on items required for Project OEM to have the ability of the Rear Bumper Display Page.
You will remember that I have installed an Arduino UNO with CANBUS Sheild:
This has been fully installed into the ISO/Quadlock Adapter and performs brilliantly at enabling the speed pulse massage to the RNS-E PU 193G. Also allows the over speed warning.
This is what Stuart has been working on for me to convert the K-Line messages to the Infotainment CANBUS:
This is what I have received this morning to add to the Arduino UNO:
All I need to do is plug it into the Arduino UNO and solder the white wire to the K-Line (B5) on the RNS-E.
This is what it should look like once it has been married to said Arduino UNO:
Unfortunately this weekend I just don’t have the time to get this fitted. I’m a little behind on 3 bedrooms going back to bare brick and completely rewiring the ring before plasterboarding leading to decorating.
Therefore I will get this done later next week and show you the results, I am very excited about this.
