Project peperami - (A2Steve)

Try starting off in second gear - Tank is around 6 seconds to 60 and I always do the fastest times when slipping the clutch in second. You can then redline in second and go straight to 4th and still be in the power.

No chance of a 2nd gear launch in mine. The different cam profile has changed the characteristics of the car so that it needs a lot more revs to progress well.

Don't stop there! Change the dash, wheel and handbrake cover, too! I seem to recall you removing a suitable dash for myself, Steve? LOL!

The cream dash isn't actually cream though, it's a beige colour and looks a bit too retro for my liking. I quite like the cream.ans black contrast.

Looking excellent Steve have to agree the brown and beige look the nuts.

Have to say it - the handbrake cover looks odd to my eyes - steering wheel and gearstick look good though :p

I did a 0-60 the other day and it was 8 seconds because it's all wheelspin. Far better when overtaking etc when the wheels are already rolling at speed.
The A2 is just dying to be 4WD! I reckon the best route would be a TT quattro rear subframe somehow shoehorned onto custom mounts and the guts of a written off electric car (nissan leaf) to make a 4wd, plug in hybrid A2 with around 230bhp which could do 50 miles on electric only

Hi Steve

JUST the right amount of tint. Any more and it would have looked “boy revering” any less and it would not have been enough.
Looks great.

I tinted my own rear lenses using tinted light paint in a can. The advantage of that is that I could start off with a light tint and just keep applying more coats until it was exactly what I wanted.

I guess I could use the same stuff on the headlights too? I have some spare ones I could try it on (just as an experiment, I can’t do it to Violet)

Very nice mod . Steve..
What product did you use to achieve this .

It was done by the paintshop, he mixed in gloss black with the laquer. He's said he is happy to do them by mail order for £50 plus delivery but it would mean sending him your headlights to do.

Hi Steve,

How do we know it's the different cam profile that's created this characteristic rather than the larger turbo?

Cheers,

Tom

The last thing I would want is for it to look 'boy revering' ;-)

The trouble is with the tinting spray, its quite matt looking when finished. This is a nice glossy finish.
