Ah yes. Of course. Silly me.

Congratulations Louisfix.

You are a little far from me but please do keep me in mind if you fancy a busmans holiday in Glasgow.

I’m coming up Scotland in July if you still want me to do a service. I’ll be passing your door near enough as I’m going to Fife to meet @ICowie a good friend of mine :)?

Today so far I’ve machine polished the faded paint to make it look new again.

I have to say she is coming up well :)

AFTER

It’s so rewarding seeing it go from horrible faded red to a nice gloss red :)

Thank you :)

Any chance of a run through of the products used and process, it's on my list of things to film. I'm guessing high low grit numbers then refining up to high grit all wet and then back to hard compound polish and back up to light polish, then seal?

What I did

Take the headlights out of the car obviously

Wet sand 1000 grit for 10 minutes (Side to side)

Wet sand 1500 grit 5 minutes (up and down)

Wet sand 2000 grit 5 minutes (side to side)

Finally machine polish the headlights using meguiars polishing compound

Then if you want spray some lacquer on the headlights to protect them

After leaving the lacquer to dry for 2/3 days machine polish them Again using polishing compound and then you will have nice smooth shiny headlights :) ?

Any ideas what this second dipstick is for ???

I have pulled it out and there is no fluid on it ???

I’m guessing there should be fluid on it as it’s a dip stick!!!
