Just a quick update this evening.

How do you open the A2 boot with a flat battery? - probably not of much use to most folks on here, but some people have commented to me that they don't know how

Yet another reason to own such a great little car. I didn’t know you could do this until I looked at the video. Thanks for that great video.

My pleasure Sir. Great choice in name and colour BTW, that was the colour of my first A2 many moons ago!

I'm having some bonnet opening 'issues'. Is the procedure just to jimmy it open and then look for the issue?

The latch under the drivers side has departed company from the cable release.

@depronman I'll be needing one of your parts to fix, but meanwhile I need to get into the bonnet to address an issue with running on 3 cylinders! Mostly due to me removing one of the coils! ?

You can pull it out enough to be able to get a flat head screwdriver in there and push the plastic of the latch back. Combined with pulling quite for early to the left with the flap it should release. I don’t know of a better way to release a jammed flap, but happy to learn.

I’ve always managed to carefully lever the service flap open and get a long thin screwdriver in to open the catch
It’s likely al gunged up with crap
You can remove a couple of torx15 screws that hold catch assy to the slam panel then grip th latch with pliers and lather it in WD40 then pull and push the latch. It will soon free off
I then run engine oil down the latch and finish it off with working grease into the latch assy I use Molly grease
Then reassemble it to the slam panel

If you need a new latch let me know I do 3D printed ones as Audi don’t sell the latch separate to the complete service flap

Cheers. Paul
