Please, please, anybody experience of a simple and cost effective method of increasing the bass.

I have tried simple amplified bass tubes (@£40 and £80) in the past and they have given increased thudding but very very poor quality.

I would love 'just' to extend the rear speaker wires to a connector and have a good quality tube or box that could be removed when I need my boot space back.

I am paranoid over warranty and reliability. Can even this simple job be done without wrecking everything - it all worked okay on my Jago Jeep years ago but that was probably a peddle powered valve amp and 8w speaker!

Pioneer do a subtle sparewheel replacing unit - no use to us!

Any ideas...

Quality bass needs space and it needs power to drive it.

Both are unfriendly to your wallet.
Simple options do not really exsist for decent bass, at least not that I am aware of.

Even bass tubes which have built in amps still require some configuration with the wiring and exsisting stereo kit.

How about a dwarf & a drum, the boot is quite big!!!!!

Possibly something like an amplified box may be some way to what your after if you use an RCA drop down converter from the rear speakers and a Banana plug you could easily unplug the box, providing you use a haevy duty plug in the line & earth Cables just the remote that would need to be played with.
