Hi everyone,

question for you fsi owners....

when cruising at 60mph and 70mph could you tell me what the rpm’s are please?

Thanks

This won't actually make a difference to what you observe on the instrument cluster. Your car is totally unaware that its tyre size has been increased and that it's now going about 4% further for each rotation of the axle compared to an A2 with standard-size tyres.
Your A2 FSI and every other A2 FSI with a factory-standard gearbox will do an indicated 70mph at, let's say, 3200rpm (I can't remember the precise figure). Your indicated 70mph will actually be 70mph, whereas an equivalent car with standard tyres will have an optimistic speedo, meaning that its indicated 70mph will actually be circa 67mph. But what you see indicated by the instrument cluster is unaffected by your choice of tyres; the ratio between the rpm scale and the speed scale is fixed by the gearbox.

As long as you're still in 5th gear, rpm@60mph = rpm@70mph x 6/7.

Cheers,

Tom

6th gear extension still available? I know of cost and not bothered about getting money back invested.
There's almost nothing on A2OC about the 6th gear conversion for the FSI. Tony of A2 Cars found a company in Germany who were able to do it, but he was always very guarded about the information. Having done a bit of research, I believe it was this company who were doing the conversions for him: https://www.getriebetechnik-sachsen.de/leistungen

Although their website encourages you to make direct contact for a precise quote, most of their 6th gear upgrades cost 1400 Euros.

Cheers,

Tom
