Can somone check the middle connector of the cooling FAN control unit(witch located on top of cooling FAN) it there 12 volts even when the engine and ignition is off??

Problem is that cooling FAN does not shut off, i even tried to disconnect the termo switch with is on the bottom cooling hose..

AUDI A2 1,4TDi 75HP, 2002.

Thanks.

Always on. Even after night, i connect the 2nd conector and FAN starts spining.

I need to know if 12V is always passed to that 2nd conector and the control unit just decides from data its got, to pass 12V to the FAN or not , or there are some problem before the control unit... because there is always 12V.

Is 12V is passed to control unit input, it outputs 12V , no matter if i disconnect third conector from temp gauge or not.

PS: i when i post new topik with pics or just try to add picture my posts need to be aprowed by moderator why? :D

Resolved! |Thanks to Mr Smurf for help on fan control unit dissasambly.

1. Sucseesfuly repaired FAN motor itself.
2. Repaired FAN control unit . (changer TRANSISTOR for 2Eur)

Great results :D No diagnostics and new parts from AUDI :D

Could you provide me info about the dissasambly? My problem is that the radiator fan never runs. I have problem with the AC. I changed the G263 sensor today and now I have cooler air most of the time, but when stationary and hot the air is not cool and the fan is not running.

Hi QQ2
I have the same problem the fan is always on from the time the car is started its so annoying. Can you tell me how you repaired both please - any information would be great.

Thanks

With the climate control switched on, the radiator fan will run as soon as the engine is started. After a run, when the engine is hot, the fan will continue running for a few minutes after the ignition is switched off. This is normal operation but quite scarey if you don't expect it. How does this compare with your car

Cheers Spike

You're an optimist, QQ2 last seen in 2012. A bit of repair detail in post #4.
