Radio Loom wiring colours

My recently purchased A2 had an aftermarket stereo fitted, however on removing it, there are 10's wires some used, some cut off and a multitude of ISO and din plugs.

I need to start from scratch as i want to return to original, can anyone let me know wire/colour/fin connection as per factory please

A good photo of what you have, would help identify what you need/need to do.

There are two standard wiring setups behind the stereo; 2001-and-earlier, and 2002-and-later.
(Variations of those two standard setups exist depending on whether the car has speakers in the rear doors, the Bose premum sound system, the boot-mounted CD changer, or factory-fitted telephone preparation.)

Knowing the age of your A2 is therefore vital to the provision of correct information.

Cheers,

Tom

It's a concert radio as pic
I'm assuming the bottom left in pic 2 with 8 pins is the power plug, and the one with 4 pins is the speaker plug

And a pic or two of the radio slot, in the car, and the wiring/connectors please? That's what we need to see.
Mac.
A pic or two will show clearly, if the radio you have, is the correct one for the car.
Your pic is of a Concert Mk1, by the year, 2002, it is likely to be a Concert Mk2 that was originally fitted.
Mac.

That's a bit of a mess.
I can't identify the original radio, because all the original connectors have been cut off.
But, as there are non OEM Red and Black wires, likely to provide switched 12 volts, (which the later Chorus/Concert 2 didn't have, and the aftermarket radio would need), I'll hazard a guess that the car originally had a Chorus 2.
Other opinions welcome.
Once you have established which radio was OEM, contact our ethical breakers, and ask them to remove the complete radio loom, as far back as possible, from a compatible car.
If you have the skill, you can join the loom with connectors, (from the donor car), to the matching colour wires in your loom.
It is a a bit of a challenge, as the car side of your loom does not have much spare length.
I think you may gain better access with the heater control panel removed.
Good luck, and I hope this helps.
Mac.

Update,
I've removed most of the extra spaghetti.
I'm assuming the brown plug is front speakers, and the missing black factory plug is the power.
The 4 wires are
Red and white (thick wire)
Brown (thick wire)
Brown (thin wire)
Grey and white (thin wire)

I'll inline splice the power to a new black plug, however does anything know identity of the 4 above please

Red/white - permanent live pin 7
Thick Brown - Ground pin 8
Thin brown - mute or related to the alarm pin 2
Grey/white - K line diagnostics pin 3

I don’t those are correct for this car.
The 20 pin connector is used for CD changer etc.
The black plug has 4 wires on cars with layer wiring, which are in the positions I mentioned.
This is taken from the wiring diagram.

As timmus mentioned, that radio won’t work in your car unless you wire in a switched 12 volt and lighting control as in Mac’s diagram.
