Re V Power etc

Hi Chaps. Can anyone help to solve my constant problem which is now exaggerated since filling with Shell Vpower for the first time. Car seems to respond slightly better, and is prob doing more mpg, will know on next fillup, but it has always occassionally ran like the choke is on when in first or reverse. Last time I had to reverse about 1/4 mile (narrow lane, woman, horse box) I had codes 18043 (can missing signal) & 17566 (Intake manifold pressure sensor implaudable). I looked at Pauls thread and checked for rubbing pipes, but could'nt see anything amiss. I had the codes cleared, they didn't give any other info, and when I had the local Audi specialist look at it they said nothing to worry about, come back when it gets a lot worse? (Charged me £48 to tell me that) My thoughts are it could be the clutch sensor? as I dont have my foot on the brake at the time, but it doesn't do it when moving slowly in 2nd so maybe not. Any thoughts??? It is now very annoying especially as my mate says change this F'ing car everytime is does it. Regards Colin.

Hi Colin after looking in your profile to see what engine you have(1.4petrol) i would do or get your throttle body cleaned as this is common on the petrol models. i beleive there is a "how to " on here. hope this solves it mike

Thanks Mike, had that done about 11k ago at Brets suggestion. Solved all sorts of problems but not the current one which it has had since I got it. (Sorry didn't mention it was a petrol). Dont know whether it's worthwhile replacing all of the vac tubes and pipes, and or the clutch sensor switch. It's just odd that it only does it occassionally, probably when on a slight slope. For instance when I pick my mate up from work, I have to reverse out of a parking slot which its on a very slight slope, then turn round to drive off. It sometimes but not always misbehaves and will do it in both reverse and first. I have tried parking the other way round, and it will sometimes do it just in bottom. Doesn't seem to do it in any other gears? Audi say it could be a very expensive fix as it's an 'unknown' problem, and my local Audi specialist say not worth looking at until it gets much worse. It's even more annoying that it doesn't do it all the time as it would be a 'lets thow some cash at it' and get it sorted. The codes just seem to indicate a problem but not a cause. Once had an Arosa sport (100bhp) that constantly was at the dealers with similar probs. Swapped it for something else in disgust. Ps I tried a dose of injector clean a couple of tanks ago to no avail.Cheers Colin.
