Rear cupholder and mysterious button next to it?

Hi,

the button releases the clip that holds the cup holder in place. It is designed to be removable as when folding the rear seats fully forward, the seats need to go in the place where the cup holder resides.

The cup holder hooks in at the back and clips down at the front. Pressing the button allows the cup holder to be quickly removed when folding the seats forward.

Yes, they are quite rare, black ones particularly so. Light grey were still available from Audi Tradition last time I looked.
The fixings are also difficult, although the two back clips are being 3d printed by a forum member.
Second hand ones go for up to approx £130.00 depending on condition, colour and what fixings are included.
 
The rear storage boxes are also still available to order from dealers but I think only in soul black and are very expensive.
 
I see. I like the idea of making the back seats a bit more user friendly. Or the storage box would be useful for me. One of the things about the A2 I have found is that there is not a place for me to put my stuff.

To what stuff do you refer.

I upsides from a Smart Fortwo so I feel spoiled but I find mine really capacious.

I also 3D print the front bracket which is also no longer available from Audi, there are two different models of rear cup holder, easy needing the specific front bracket (I make both models), the rear clips are the same as is the rear bracket which is still available from Audi
