rear parking sensors

I thinking of putting rear parking sensors on my car but dont like the thought of cutting the bumper (i did put these kind on my mazda but that was 11 years old).

I,ve seen electomagnetic parking sensors which need the bumper removing and are stuck to the inside of the bumper so no drilling.

But how hard or easy is it to remove and refit the bumper or would i be better off just going down the drilling method.

Cheers david

If you want to go down the drilling method, then if you remove the bumper, there are circles already marked out for guides.

I suppose if you took the bumper off, you may as well put the electromagnetic strip type in there, but I've always read better reviews of the sonic type and there must be a reason why manufacturers don't fit the hidden sort at the factory.

Be warned, going for genuine Audi ones will lead to a world of pain as the wiring to the front of the car is a nightmare.

reverse sensors

is there a gromit or somethig that i can feed the 4 wires into boot and connect to reverse light wire.

well they did tell me nothing easy on a a2 lol:confused:

ok so how do i remove the rear bumper to fit revese sensors

You open a can of worms!

Seriously, it's hard work! Remove both rear wheels and rear arch liners to gain access to the screws on either side, then remove the ones underneath and finally, remove the black plastic strip between the latch and the trim strip to access the remaining screws and then jiggle it free.

Mike

strip on top of rear bumper

theres a strip on top of the rear bumper, can this be removed and is there much of a gap behind it, to save me taking rear bumper off
