Remap on A2 1.4 16v??

I've seen a few posts on here from years ago about a remap or rechip to the 1.4 to get marginal gains of about 7-10bhp. Has anyone on here done this? As the 1.4 is naturally aspirated it's more difficult to improve engine performance, but as I have done most of the bit's I wanted to do to the car now, I'm looking at what else could be done... My dad is still looking at an engine swap but that's his and not mine... and too much money!

I love my little Project Noir but would be interested in what is possible.

Yeah I would love this too an extra 10hp would make a big difference to a 75hp car.

A bit left field, but with some weight reduction (quite a bit actually ≈ 100 kg), the bhp/tonne figure could match that of a 10 hp remap with standard weight.

Yeah I did think about that but i still want it to be usable without stripping seats etc. That will probably happen with the engine swap A2 dad builds though

Try a K&N air filter, super unleaded fuel, and reduce the weight (back seats out if not used regularly) these steps will do wonders to zip a 1.4 Petrol up a bit.

I checked the website of the company that remapped my BMW from 177 to 235 BHP and for the A2 1.4 petrol, they only show an increase of 8BHP.

I'm hoping that when i've done some mild port work to sort out the dreadful factory machining i'll get a few more horses not to mention torque. It will definately spool up quicker and feel quicker by how much only time will tell.

Please do let me know sir! I am very up for port and skimming her if it’s worth it.
