removing ext. mirror glass

(I do apology first for my frenglish)
I'd like to replace my standard mirror glass with a heated one from vagparts.com. Trouble is... I don't know how to remove the 1st one in order to check wether I have the required wires or not.
Breaking it is not my favorite solution...

Any hint or howto web page ?
 
Very simple to do.
Move the mirror electrically so that you have a gap just big enough to get a couple of fingers behind.
Ram fingers behind and pull off the old mirror. It is held on by a circular plastic clip in the centre.

I was nervous the first time I did it but it is easy.

Don't drink drive! Not only is it socially unaceptable, it also harms A2's.
Was a Merlot Red 1.4SE petrol originally.
Now an Ebony Black 1.4SE petrol with Red Leather, CC, Symphony + all the previous options we had.

Just do it, don't hesitate. Piece of cake and very useful this time of year. But read the above thread first to see if your car fits the bill. What year/model is it?

It's a 6/2002 1.6 FSI, pack... but no winter pack and since I live in the french Alps...

From what I've read, virtually all A2's have the wiring in place. And your FSI is quite recent so I'm even more certain that you can go ahead.
You can always check of course, by taking your current mirrors off and looking for the wiring. The pictures on the German page show them well.

I've just checked. The wiring is in place.. so I placed my order at vagparts.com...
Again, thanks for the tips.
