Repair Wheels

Their are lots of companies out there which do full refurbs for your wheels ...you’re in London should be plenty ..a company ive used in Bristol call Phoenix alloys you give them the (car) or whole set of wheels tires included they take them off strip them bead blast powder coat them and I think it worked out to at £240 the set tyres back on and balanced ?

Good Morning,

Slightly puzzled by your use of the word damaged, I see no damage unless you count corrosion and kerb rash, looks to me they just need refurbishing.

Pity you are not near Birmingham, a place there will do the lot for as little as £80, but I expect similiar places in London. More details here. Since I wrote that I have used them again for a set of pepperpots and these came back perfect, again for £80.

A good time to assess the tyres and replace if necessary, these kind of places normally will put any new tyre(s) on and balance for a further £10 a wheel.

Trouble is Andrew there’s quite a bit of work if you want a pucker job and not a flash job in my experience over the years you get what you pay for £80 for a set of 4 taken off the rims stripped dressed were necessary primed and powder coated tyres re fitted and balanced err not for £80...and that price I quoted was trade ..

Yes, I quite agree you get what you pay for, some time ago now since I wrote the above linked review I wrote but I thought that is what I implied. The £80 price is their base price, bare wheels and generic glitter silver. You can opt for oem silver at extra cost and £10 per wheel requiring tyre removal and replacement but still amazing value and I think they do not straighten wheels or if they do it will be outsourced at extra cost. If you read what they claim to do for their £20 a wheel deal normal procedures are there but at this price I wonder with what effort and attention to detail.

Still very good value and as I said a later second set of wheels came back perfect.

Sorry to hear of your accident, rest up.

^^^if this is City Wheels^^^ I found them very good on all three sets of wheels that I have had done, yes it is a case of 'you get what you pay for', but in my opinion, for £80 its hardly worth breaking out in a sweat doing it yourself. I have had small repairs done to them too, which I was not charged for, or asked if I wasnted them repairing, they have just done them as a matter of course.
Couldn't recommend them more...

Yes, just to be clear..

This one of my pepperpots from earlier in the year, ignore the protective edge wrapping. Looks very good to me, maybe the odd imperfection here and there over the set, but then we are back to what you pay for argument. Your choice, £80 a set or Typically £300+.

The test will be how they wear.

I use Lepsons on both of our cars and have done for years, they are based next to Gillingham train station. They are not cheap but do a very good job, they do not use filler, they weld new metal in, and they straighten every wheel so they are literally as new.
They pick the wheels up for you or you can drive the car there and then get the train into London for work, as I did last time. Very convenient.
