Replacing brake light switch

Got the orange coil light flashing and brake light failure, been told it's the brake light switch. Bought the switch but can't get the panel above the pedals off.....any ideas please

The 'knee' panel has a torx screw in the flat under section, in front of the clutch pedal area, the otherside is clipped in as far as I can remember. You may have to remove the headlight switch, by pushing it in, holding it there while a slight turn to the right, then pull whole light switch out.

The top of the panel area is clipped in as under the light switch, same with other side, just pull out.

Thanks sarge, i did find the screw and removed it but didn't want to pull on the panel (was still very tight) for fear of breaking something.

There's actually a second screw that hasn't been mentioned, it lives under the sill trim, near the fuse box and means that you need to remove the sill trim panel too.

You can actually change the brake light switch without removing any screws - just pop the light switch out, unclip the top of the panel where it meets the dash and fold it down to get to the switch.

Cheers,

Mike
