Resignation as Social Secretary

Im afraid I Have some Bad News
Due to personal circumstances i will be unable to Continue
as the Social Secretary for the club .......

I Feel that i've had my time ,i did discuss this earlier on in the year with
several members at the Camping Trip .Perhaps if someone would like to step forward they
will be a lot keener and maybe able to come up with some fresh idea's .......

I Have been involved with a few socials ,But i cant give 100% commitment and feel that personal problems have got in the way ,i feel its awkward for me if i organize an event or meet but end up not being able to make it ,so therefore i think it would be a benefit to the club if someone else took this post ,it would be nice to see some more local gatherings as well as the national meets .......

However we have had some well organized socials in the last year or so and would like to NOMINATE 3 People to take over this position....

Chris Todd (ULP)
Mike Hill (Skipton)
Ian Walling (Driveforward)

In Case your wondering
I still Love my A2 , and wont be getting rid for a long time yet ......:(

A sad announcement indeed.

If there is anything that I or anyone else can do to help you out Carl, then just let us know - you have been great as the Social Secretary (a position that was a little dropped on you) and it's good to know that you'll be keeping the Green Meany for a good long while yet.

Although there are advantages in 1 person looking after many roles, I would prefer to see the social secretary position go to either of your other nominees - I do have a pretty tall order as the Technical Director, although I have now become the point of contact for Audi Driver magazine!

Keep smiling Carl and nest wishes to you.

CHeers,

Mike

Although I've never met you Wooly, sounds like you've done a good job for the club in the past, and look forward to meeting you at Chatsworth on the Sunday, along with all the other members .

Cheers Bob.

Wooly.

Hi Carl, I would like to add my 'THANKS' to those already stated, i'll still look forwards to seeing you at future events, take care! my very BEST wishes to you, cheers ,
Alan.(pamanal21).

Carl, sad as it is to hear of you 'throwing in the towel' ;) many of us of course did know it was going to happen! I'd like to take this opportunity to say that you have done a great job and really helped increase the 'social involvement' of members recently and I look forward to keeping in touch at future socials.

As for your replacement, I think something along the lines of what was discussed at the camping trip - it's a big burden (as you know) for one person given the variety and locality of our members. I'm certainly willing to help out as I'm sure many members will be, and should have more time in 2008.. things may be easier following along with Chris' thinking where certain members organise certain events, that way we can get a good number of meets in during a year and not over-burden one individual

Ian

Hi Carl,

Thanks for keeping everything ticking over up until now. I hope everything is well with you. As Mike says if there's anything we can help with, then please let us know.

You've been a great asset to the club since Stewart's day. It's true that getting people involved and motivated can be an uphill task at times - but it's been worth it.

I'm sure we'll still stay in touch since you are only up the road.

Take care and stay your happy self.

Ben.

Hi Carl,

I wanted to echo the comments of everyone here and add that I too am sorry to hear that you are stepping down.

Every aspect of club membership is a privilege due to the enthusiasm and commitment of every member here, but it is an even greater success due to the continued support of the 'die hard' members such as yourself, Ben, Mike and Spike who add just that little bit extra.

Sorry to see you are passing on the mantel, glad to hear that you will continue to be an A2 owner and active forum member and most of all I hope that everything works out for you on a personal level.

Best wishes buddy,

Darren & Family

Thanks everyone for your kind words ,if i could have carried it on i would have but something had to give .....,

On a positive note i am glad that Chris has offered to take up the vacant position .
After attending the Camping social earlier on in the year , i think Chris and Marie did a fantastic job of organizing this event and if his other socials are half as good as this one then you will see my Greenie at a few more events yet LOL !!!!!

I Also think that having social meets on a local scale has to work as well ,so if anyone would like to volunteer some time or can come up with some other venue's for a meet then all assistance is greatful .......

I Did think that Mike would be too busy as we all know that he is snowed under with questions of a technical nature thanks Chris for helping me out , Perhaps Ian could be second in Command as he had some great idea's for future events ........and also has the experience of how other clubs (seat.net) run there socials......

Cheers everyone Looking forward to meeting up again ......:)
