Ok, I'm going to go back to Audi UK to see if there's any chance of remade buttons and light switches. I'll update further as I get any news...

if you cant read the instruments I would say that is a safety issue surely?!
I will order some from my dealer tomorrow but how are you expected to spray over switches and still keep the red light shining through?
Soft touch spray update. My local dealer has it in stock, albeit in the wrong colour. It's a double ended can with one coating being sprayed onto another. At £18 I ordered one on the spot. Should be in next week apparently, so no 5-6 weeks as per customer services. I'll update further when it arrives....
This is for the interior panels, not the switches.
Such as the handbrake tunnel area, door panels and glove box lid etc.

I'm not sure either. If the coating that goes on the window switch surrounds is the same that's on the centre console then it's good news. No idea if it is until it turns up, but either way it's an aerosol so I don't believe it's designed to be brushed on...
Just to chime in, the rubberised button coating has been a long standing issue that didn't affect the early A2 (2000-2001) as the buttons and dash finish was different.
VW cars are also affected. I had a Touareg with sat-nav and some buttons were peeling. I could not order individual buttons only a complete unit @£1500. Needless to say I didn't bother.
Having owned A2s for now over 12yrs I am very careful hence my 2003 car has perfect buttons given that I leave the setting on Auto @22DegC and never really have cause to change it as the climate control is so good. My wife's 2004 A2 on the other hand is a different story given that she has never grasped the concept of climate control mistakenly believing setting it to HI will giver her heat quicker on a cold engine - it wont!
I may try some of the stick on buttons if they are translucent for the backlight to show through
Gotta love this cold weather when the Webasto heater kicks in within two minutes of driving off every morning giving me warm air.

This soft touch paint is not for the buttons, it is for the other areas of the interior where the coating has peeled off or worn away.
Hi all, I've got it. No instructions though which is pretty poor to be honest. I've no idea how to apply it so I guess it's just the usual techniques used with rattle cans? I'll give it a go on a spare window switch surround first after Christmas, and update with results....
Hi all, I havent got round to trying this stuff yet, another Lambretta rebuild has got in the way. I'll have a go at it in the next week or so and report back...
