Rnse 193b from. Tt

On EBay, the number of the 2020 factory disc can just be seen in this picture. It isn’t the one in our case?

Steve,

After some reading (before I sent a rather angry email to the seller) online I think that Ian might be incorrect. You know I am no expert on these things so very happy to be corrected.

I think a 2017 disc is named:

8P0 919 884 CM

2019 disc is:

8P0 060 884 DD

The 2020 disc is:

8P0 060 884 DJ

I think we both have a 2019 disc.

Kind regards,

Tom

Hi Tom
Thanks.
If we both have the same map disc (and we do) then surely that means that the map version is not the cause of me not having the speed limit data.

I know that it should not be due to mine being a 193B but I am not sure what other difference there is. We have both used the same firmware update and are both running the same version of the software. Perhaps it is an issue with the disc that I am using. Perhaps it is missing a vital file (or two)?

Just clutching at straws of course!

?

@Bargepower if we could try your disc it might help pin down the cause?
Thank You

Cheers

I'll see you on Monday evening then.

I'm not infallible!
It appears it depends where you search. Some sites give 2017, some give 2019 for the DD part number, but I suspect it actually is the 2019 version.

Has anyone cut a rnse front of a tt ? The b versions seem quite rare apart from the tt ones, but looking at the photos I don't think there is enough "flat" part to cut down so curious if anyone has tried.
The tt one seems to be shaped.View attachment 22941
Don't want to waste my money on something that's not do able so will only risk it if someone else has cut one down successfully to fit.
@Ianth good morning,

Can I ask how you got on with this shaped RNS-E. I am no stranger to attacking a RNS-E with the Dremel but thought I’d ask about your results before I purchase one.

It’s difficult to tell how it would turn out without having one of these Mk2 TT HUs here.

Happy to hear your thought sir and if possible see the results.

Kind regards,

Tom

Hi tom,my apologies for not answering sooner, hadn’t noticed the post so sorry.
In the end I got a different one off eBay (a revision b),think it cost around £500 but was simpler to install, still needed trimming but much simpler cuts.came complete with antennae and I think it was 2016 maps, been faultless and well worth the cost, ignore the dirty car,not cleaned it in a while,it’s usually mint.

Thank you for your reply @Ianth,

I thought the Mk2 TT head units would have had too many contours to nicely fit into our A2s. My RNS-E PU (193G) is running great in Project OEM but I am after something like the 193B revision as it would eliminate the need of the Arduino unit I have as the 193B has the hardware inside to pick up the V Signal and RFSL signal. I have just taken a gamble on an eBay item for a 2013 Seat Exeo, part number 3R0035192. Although the Seat part number ends in 192 I am certain that it is a RNS-E PU in Seat clothing. The displays (borders and shading) make it look like its certainly a 193 item.

Ill let everyone know how I get on as this could be a much cheaper option than a £500 193 B Revision.

Kind regards,

Tom

The units look the same externally and as it’s the same group then you are probably correct.
Having had a think about it now, when I got mine it was quite a bit cheaper than £500 but can’t remember how much as I actually bought the steering wheel which was brand new off the same seller and he did me a good deal, when the nav unit came that also was brand new Which I wasn’t expecting.
This thread has reminded me I have still not got around to organising someone to sort out the functionality on the steering wheel buttons. :) another job for next year.

Morning,

You’re not that far away for @timmus HQ, Tom would be the first person I’d speak to for any type of retrofit. This is most certainly his area of expertise.

Kind regards,

Tom

Yes,I think I recall asking him a few years ago if he could sort it one day when he is in the area !
As he is usually so busy it must have slipped his mind..........and mine, maybe one day I will get round to it although on boring drives playing with the buttons stops a bit of boredom without changing radio channels,so some benefit not bothering lol.
