Road tax increase

Just realised that the road tax has gone up as of from this month.
£35.

But the daughter in law got her reminder at the start of this month and it says £30.

Work that one out.

I did my tdi end of march for a year, it was still £30, not worried about £5 extra next year, considering my CLK is just over £30 a month, only used weekends.
 
That is correct. It does say on the form that..

The rates of duty were correct at the time of printing. If they change in the budget you may need to pay a different rate..

So if your tax expired the end of March then you pay the old rate. If it expires the end of April or later then the new rate applies.

Yep we found that out too as our A2 tax expired the end of March so was due April 1st and our renewal also came through at £30.

I reminded the wife to pay it on the 31st before we went to bed but she forgot, so next morning April 1st when she did do it it was £35.

Obviously not a big difference and still a pleasure to pay but I just hope it isn't the start of a continual rise with the aim of eventually pricing us off the road! 👍
