Sat nav dash mounts - okay or mark dash?

Hi,

I was wondering if any one has used these, it says that they do not leave any residue afterwards but im wondering if it will turn the dash after a period of time a different colour. I am thinking of using one of these because I can't be bothered constantly wiping my window of the ring the sat nav mount makes.

So I think that if I place one of these to the right of the driving wheel it should be ok.

looked at these myself...

If its from a security point of view (ie you dont want a thief to see the ring on your screen..) there is no point as a thief will know what the sticky pad is for on your dashboard as well...

Just a thought...

Hi Richard,

I put my Tomtom on top of the (open) ashtray, which allows it to be seen above the gear lever and places it close to the cigarette lighter for power connection.

John.

If you put the glass sucker mount right up in the top corner of the screen, it might be possible that the sucker is hidden by the tint band across the screen.

I have my radar detector up there and it's pretty much invisible from the outside.

Power can then be run down the A pillar lining to the light switch and spliced in to a pre-ignition feed there.

Cheers,

Mike

Just looked at my windscreen, mine doesnt seem that darkened at the top. I had another idea, I will stick my a2 sticker on the front little window and try the sat nav sucker over that, not sure if it would stick though.. : )

Hello,
You can also fit the satnav holder in the cupholder in the dash.
Put the suction part gently in the cupholder and press the cupholder gently back into the dash. Works great, but I put
mine (Garmin 1490TV) without holder upright in the ashtray and because of the tight fit it stays put there. Also easy to remove and looks like a double DIN dash:cool:
Cheers, Gumbold
