Scary Stuff

On the way to work this morning all the lights lit up,warning triangle,ABS etc with a loud beep that frightened the life out of me.
Got back in after work & turned on & there`s no sign of any of them,drove home with no further lights or beeps.
Anyone know what that was all about?
Whatever it was it`s certainly not good for the old ticker.:eek:
 
It just happens to certain cars from time to time, with no apparent underlying cause.

It actually happened to me when Tank was about 3 months old. Having full diagnostic equipment, I did a scan, but nothing was showing!

Ghost in the machine?

Thanks for that Mike,Ghosts in the machine I can cope with,Audi workshop prices are a different matter.
 
Happened to me a few weeks ago one cold icy night as I moved off in the station car park. As you say, scary stuff. I turned the engine off; waited a minute; and then restarted. Been OK ever since.

Hi, I have had the same recurring problem now for a few weeks. It always happens after long trips (100km) and turning suddenly. I have ESP, ABS and anti-spin lights and the dreeded 3 beeps. Took it back to the garage, they can not find any problem -only intermitant error. The last time (now) when turning left or right the enging cuts for a split second. This is getting very anoying. They have checked for dry contacts - no change. When I bought the car I had cruse control fitted, since then ...... Any sugestions.
