Scottish Social/Meet - September 2016

Great day. Lovely to meet new people and A2 lovers. Thanks to James for organising and apologies for the hassle some folk had getting into the car park ! Felt worth it to see the pictures of the cars with the Kelpies in the background. Euan posting up the pics I took soon as I'm a luddite and will make a hash of it.

Some lovely A2s. All very different in their own ways and agree Stevens interior is stunning. Beautiful trim. Also great to see a papaya storm.

That's the least I've ever driven for a social. 130 mile round trip instead of the usual 500 +

hi guys,

yep it was finally good to put some names to faces young & old ;)

@steve garrity ive just noticed that youve been a member since 2004...where have you been? lol

so whos up for taking those horses heads to the scrappies :D theres a few quid in them bad boys!

next time we do this it would be good to get a lunch and sit round for a proper chin wag :)

thanks to james for organising this meet..... the kelpies is a good all rounder for space, scenery and meeting place. you should make this a yearly event from now on and add in the odd other event too.

Nice to meet some like minded lovers of A2s. nice to see all the factory fitted options that were on the others cars plus Steven's personal touch interior and gizmo's, not forgetting Jean's Bugatti Blue A2. Good day had by All.

Can I suggest the next meet just along the road at Bannockburn to sample some Bannock's, Haggis and Irn Bru (Diet).

So I know the question on everyone's lips is "When is the next Scottish Meeting?". The honest answer is I'm not sure, but this is the time and the place to get some idea's going. If anyone has any suggestions post them here and we can discuss with Murdo et al. We can also arrange for next year to do a convoy if we want to get to some of the bigger meetings as a community, thoughts?

Some learns from today:

1) You can book parking at the Kelpies - didn't know that!
2) We can get special permission to get photo's in front of the Kelpies - didn't know that!
3) There is a Bugatti Blue A2 in the club - didn't know that!

Sadly when I got home I had both a flat tyre and a decent oil leak on my poorly Misano CS so have spent most of the evening changing wheels and tidying up hence the lack of posts. I had a great afternoon and the weather was amazing - although you will see in some of the photos posted we had to get out the brollies, but the Scottish Summer wouldn't be the same without them! Here are some more photo's that I managed to take between talking!

Thanks Euan. Wee Kitty loves her A2.

All please note the picture of Mr Angry proving he's really Mr Happy! Great day out folks gassing about A2s. Let's do it again soon , so as James said if there is any ideas for venues or cruise routes post them up.

I've always fancied going to the Colin McRae museum in Lanark if that interests anyone ?

Oooh that blue. What a colour!!

Yeah lovely sparkle up close on the blue one, a great colour.

The museum would be great Murdo! I think a wee run through the campsie fells would also be good (not just because it's close to where I live). Then a meet up at Culcreuch Castle for a drink/bite to eat and photo opportunity.

If you haven't been on any of the roads there, then here is a video I made when I got my new twin exhaust on my c1. Great seeing It is pretty central for most people who came to the last one.
