Scratch Repair

Hello,

Some thoughtful soul has kindly scratched my car as it was sat outside my house the other night. It's along both the rear and the front passenger doors, it may even polish out in places but seems to get a bit deeper as it goes along the front door.

Have been having a quick look on the internet about smart repairs (there is even some paintless repair system??) but peoples experience seem to vary depending on which technician has done the repair?

Does anybody have any recommendations for companies/individuals working in the South Yorkshire area? Any other experiences of getting such things sorted out?

Any advice appreciated!

Thanks

David

Hey there

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, Hope you catch scum bag.
I have had worse done to my A2 all right side and left side
panels have been keyed over night, I thought i was having a
nightmare when i saw it:mad:
Don't understand why they do it but they do it:confused:

The Audi paint work is very thick and can get most scratches out just by machine polishing, i work with Audi's refurbing ex-rental cars and we have taken some very nasty scratches out without paint, but some colours are better to touch up than others, blacks the best, but if thats yours in your photo the reds tend to go dark when touched up. Its a shame i don't live close by would have come round and tryed to polish them out for you

Cheers Phil

Thanks for your speedy replies, that is really helpful.

Will certainly give it a go first with some decent car polish and if that doesn't do the trick will get a quote from the local smart repair people (they are repairing a red A4 on their homepage there so maybe that's a good omen!?).

I don't want perfection but would feel better if it could be tidied up somewhat...doesn't sound half as bad as some of your experiences though! Both sides!! Good grief...that really would send me into a mood! It's one of things that happens i suppose, is just a bit beyond me why someone would but there you go...

Cheers again

Have used ChipsAway in the past and was impressed. Local franchisee up here in N.Lincs has jacked his prices up because of escalating fuel costs so I took my car to him for the last repair I had done.

grim reaper
can you recommend a polish for getting out deep scratches the only i knowof is t cut and i dot think it is much cop
Paul

We use a product from the states called Presta it is used with a machine polisher and a lambs wool mop head, not really sure what polish you can use from a motor factors you could use. But DON'T use T CUT a waste of time.

As i said its a shame you are not closer i would have come and give it a go. You could try a bodyshop to see if they can do anything,

Cheers Phil

This is the product we use at work but not sure about average diy use i use it abit doing "barra" jobs, but i have all the kit
