Seat heating

Seat heating won't work. Changed the switch but still nothing. Any ideas what to check next. Other side is fully working so fuse is not the problem.

Thanks

A bit long winded but maybe swap over seats and try plugging them in and trying again, it could be a broken wire in the seat, would rule out seats themselves, no need to bolt them up of course, just remember to disconnect battery first I believe!!!
Cheers Jeff

I have an unheated seat and it's all new wiring and connectors. I knew it wasn't working when I bought it but it's the passenger so I don't really care. I do keep meaning to have a look though so I'll follow your progress with interest.

So underseat connections have 12v, so I think that there is only one thing that can be wrong. And off course it is the hardest thing tyo replace, heqting element in the seat...

Have you tried checking the resistance of the elements in the seat compared to the working seat?

If it’s a complete short then should be near zero and the problem may be between the connector and the start of the elements which are presumably easier to access?

I’m just guessing but I would assume a portion of resistance per section of heating element to give even heat...

Don't know exatly abot A2 seats, but for A6 heater element ir basicly wire and most common fault is breackage of supply wire near the heating element connection - so nothing that cant be fixed with soldering iron. Good thing - it's cheap fix, bad thing - you have to take apart whole seat to do that.

So my recommendation would be - get your DMM, check for open circuit on heater element. If it's showing open circuit - take apart the seat and check wires up to heating element, start from the element itself. If it's not open circuit, then seat should be ok, check wiring from seat connector till switch.
