Selling post?

MAXAudi

A2OC Donor
Dear Moderators,

Can someone please explain what has happened to my selling post 'AUDI A2 1.4 mega spec for parts' which appears to been curtailed whilst others sell openly?

Thanks,

Max

Hi Max, I am not sure but I do know that changes have been made to the marketplace so maybe something has gone wrong there. I am sure there is no victimisation or favouritism to anyone selling parts, in fact, there are always multiple people selling parts and many of them are the same (as it is usually the same parts that are required by others).

Moderators,

What on earth is going on with the sales forum?

I created a second selling post and did as per the new T's and C's and again its gone i.e forum stated I have insufficient privilege to. post.

Can you please respond as I have no clue what the problem is now? I understand the needs for rules but this is getting more difficult than a government tender, and it would seem just as complicated!

Thanks,

Max

Hi Max, I think it's due to the MarketPlace upgrade, as my sales post has disappeared as well.
Hey

Could you please do me a favour and reply to my selling post under discussion tab within the post to test. I think this is how communication on selling post now work.

What is it doing or not doing?

Are you aware that adverts no longer allow replies (to keep the advert clean) all you have to do is to use the conversation link instead.

You can edit your advert, so I am not sure how or why you think that there is a problem.

As for you being singled out, why would you think that? We only stepo in when rules are broken. If you have broken no rules then I have no idea what has gone wrong.

Please expand on the problem and I will have a look.

Well, I managed to post in the "Discussion" section of the post ...
But parts cannot be advertised on the discussion section.

The adverts are for adverts and the discussions section is for (waiut for it!) discussions.

Parts advertised on Discussions will be removed or we will be back to where we started, i.e. repolies and discussions clogging up the advert.
By not allowing parts and discussions to mix will mean adverts that can be easily read. At the moment the adverts with replies all over them are a nightmare to determine what is actually for sale and what has been sold etc.

It is very early days (literally a couple of days since the switch) please give us chance to bed it in and clarify the do's and don'ts.
Given a little time this really could make things much better.

The main part of the forum is for help, how to, general A2 discussions etc. By separating the sales adverts into a separate section means MUCH more clarity.

Please let us get this up and running befire we start making out that it isn't going to work, it is very much "work in progress"

Thanks Steve, I was clarifying for MaxAudi there, not trying to post an advert in the Discussions...

I fully appreciate this needs work, and welcome change in general. Like I've said elsewhere, I understand the request for the change, but as discussed in the other thread it is not a one size fits all solution. I'm holding on for the moment, although I am a bit disappointed that my Parts Bin post seems to have completely disappeared from the forum posts completely now, so I'm going to have to recreate it all over again from scratch.

Hey thanks for the test got it, I think I've got my head around this now....

Great, let’s give it a fair chance to succeed.
It has to work for sellers and buyers and we will do our best to make it work.

Have you found your thread yet? It's still there but God knows where! If you search by just your username or use filter in selling it appears. If you add something it will presumably float to the top. - Andy

Yeah, that's what I did in the end as I happened to have an extra thing to sell...

Hi Max

Don’t take it personally the “selling” section is currently off line whist the club devices a solution fit for all.. I’m sure they will have it back on line soon enough.
I have suggested my solution in the DIscussion tab of the Suspension post in Selling. Of course this is not notified in What's New and probably passed most members by. I would be interested to hear opinions on my suggestion.

Hi

We should have something back up soon following some new development work to address the concerns (broadly following Andy’s suggestion).
