Service quote Audi Dulwich

Hey guys

My little A2 needs a servicing soon, close to the 70k service point. I've asked for a quote from the local Audi dealer - see below. Is this a good price, or standard? What does Audi do exactly for the service charge?

Thanks

Thank you for your query regarding costs for servicing.
*
The costs are as follows:
*
Service £249.00 inclusive of vat
Pollen Filter £41.95 Inc
Wiper blade £29.78 Inc

The devil is in the detail. It will depend what they include in that service.
The only answer will be for you to speak to the specific garage and ask.

Quite frankly, that's a ridiculous price!

I thought that polen filters were included in the Audi service, but if they're now charging another £40-odd on top, it's very poor value.

Cheers,

Mike

Choppy - If you don't mind a bit of a drive to get an Audi stamp in your service book I would recommend contacting Fontain Motors. They're over near Heathrow and charge significantly less than Audi rates but are Audi approved service centre.

Looks like I need to do a bit of homework! Will call Fontain Motors too, as its not far from Langley where I work.

Audi for parts only

This is the reason I stopped using an Audi main dealer for my servicing, some years ago. Apart from the satisfaction of doing the work myself, the charges they make are excessive to say the least.

I serviced my wife's A2 1.4 TDi last weekend. Here's a breakdown of costs. (Excludes VAT). Car is at 87k and in for an MOT next week.

Continental tyres 185/50/16V (x2) @ £91.27 each (ouch!)
Wiper blade (Audi part) @ £13.84
Air filter (Audi part) @ £14.01
Pollen filter (Audi part) @ £12.52
Oil filter (Audi part) @ £5.55
4.5 litres of Castrol Edge 5w30 longlife oil @ £45.99
Febi Bilstein brake shoes @ £14.48
1 litre Castrol DOT4 synthetic brake fluid @ £7.99
2x 12v sidelight bulbs @ £1.99

Total cost: £310.91

I also adjusted the handbrake cable, cleaned and polished windscreen and added Rain-X, cleaned glow-plugs, checked power-steering fluid, and topped up coolant slightly with G12.

Fingers crossed - it'll sail through. The only thing I'm going to get done is get the tracking checked while it's at my local garage, which for the record is not an Audi franchise!;)
