My car has just been serviced at audi 2 months it was the big one I think I paid 700euros or so (remember that Portugal has cheaper working time) well my car had 90k km and now it has 104k km 1mile is about 1.6km and he's asking for service in the next 1k??? wasn't the A2 supossed to do a lot more??

My last service lasted quite a short time. I think it was on fixed servicing instead of the variable, which lasts longer.

Coincidentally, I am due to leave my A2 in for a service tomorrow with Agnews. They have never serviced it before.

Does anyone know if I can move to variable, having been on fixed untill now? Is it more expensive to have variable done due to the different oil?

Does it work out cheaper in the long run.

Any advice before I go into them would be greatly received.

Hi dude

I maybe wrong but you can change to variable. However, I would only have variable if doing big motorway miles.
I've just stopped doing my 100 miles per day commute, and will probably go to fixed servicing now, because when doing the big miles I was getting around 30-32k between serving... this will rapidly drop with all the stop starting and round town stuff.

Oil is around £45 for 4 litres of the variable stuff... how much is the glug you put in yours?

To be honest, I got it serviced at a franchised dealer the last time and am going to do the same again.

I would say that 75% of the mileage is in motorway conditions. Maybe 250 miles at the weekend and then several small journeys on country roads.

The car has 50k miles so I suppose I will need to get the timing belt changed in 10k miles anyway so I might just have them stick with fixed.
