Been thinking about the larger capacity audio storage than stock CD changer. Seek opinion. I don't own ipod, but use pda/pda phone with big memory cards as mp3 player.
1. PhatNoise, not too expensive even compare to buying a new ipod. But it doesn't work with my Mac (needs unofficial software). I don't think I like the control interface over 20Gb of songs.
2. Audi 13pin DIN to rca auxiliary adapter, either Connects 2 or Soundlinx. 50 pounds + an interconnect to the front. easy install except I just couldn't think of a good way to fit a pair of wires to the front!!!
3. Audi aux adapter via the back of my concert head unit. Drop the wire to exit via the coin tray, if possible?. That's perfect for me as my PDA sits nice when the tray is out.
4. hi-jack the cd changer audio-in wires at the harness. Use the existing CD changer to fool the head unit into accepting cd line-in. Should be a straight fit to take the 3 hi-jacked wires into a 3.5mm mini jack? Very cheap option? less than 5 pounds from maplin and a dummy cd?
5. Take apart a set of AD2P stereo bluetooth headphones, wire them to the RCA aux from #2. Question is how to hack a power source from the back for the bluetooth headphones? Tap from the DIN and DIY a step down circuit? Or is there a 12V somewhere? This *would* be quite cool as my PDA supports stereo bluetooth, so does my Mac and many new phones.
