this is probably very old news, but has anyone ever had a problem by acquiring a sudden leak when using the gruendtraeger? it happens very often and ever since i bought my A2 3 years ago. my problem is with the drivers side door only, but i would think that other doors could be thusly affected.

I never heard of the problem, but have you tried to swap them from front to back?

a grundtraeger is the German word for roofrack

the "roofrack" has markings saying that one is for the front, and one is for the back. i bought it from the local audi dealer. reversing them may only transfer the problem to another door [the right rear, i would assume].
i come from america, but i live here, on the continent. i'd really love to take my A2 to the states, even just for vacation, but i'm told the gas mixtures available there would harm my engine. have not found out the real story here, yet.
